Chris Edwards (C.E.O.) has a Film Degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York.  Throughout college, Chris supplemented his education by volunteering at visual effects facilities, including Cinesite Hollywood.  These experiences prepared Chris for a position at Walt Disney Feature Animation in 1997.  As a 3D Layout Artist on Dinosaur, Chris composed hundreds of key shots for the film.  Later in the production, Chris joined the character animation team and became the Lead Assistant Animator for “Aladar”, the main character.

In 2000, Chris began designing sequences as the Lead 3D Layout Artist for Treasure Planet.  He also assisted with the animation for “B.E.N.”, the robot sidekick from Treasure Planet.  In 2002, Chris was hired by Lucasfilm to previsualize extensive changes to George Lucas' first feature film, THX 1138.  He helped plan the filming of new shots and was the Animation Supervisor for the creature shots.  After THX, Chris began designing sequences for Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.  Throughout the production, George Lucas worked closely with Chris, often designing shots live at Chris' desk.  As Star Wars was ending, Chris proposed that his fellow artists form their own company.

In 2004, The Third Floor established its studio in Los Angeles. Since then, Chris has acted as CEO and Previs Supervisor for many of The Third Floor’s projects, including Lost Odyssey, Lair, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Starship Dave, Valkyrie, and The Happening.
