Barry Howell graduated from Old Dominion University in 1998 with a self-made Bachelor of Science Degree merging the two disciplines of Computer Science and Traditional Animation. Before moving out to Los Angeles, he got his first taste of production experience interning at The Family Channel (now known as Fox Family). After relocating to LA, Barry was offered a job as an animator/ technical director on the short lived cartoon series Roughnecks: The Starship Troopers Chronicles. He has since worked on numerous other cartoons, commercials, Television movies, primetime episodics and miniseries. His big break came when he got the chance to work on the Sci Fi Channels' Children of Dune miniseries for which he won an Emmy Award for Best Visual Effects. Soon after that, Barry was invited up to work alongside George Lucas's handpicked team of artists on Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. It was here that he met the other members of the team that would later become The Third Floor. Barry has since provided previs for such movies as Eragon, James Cameron's Avatar, and J.J. Abrams' Cloverfield. He recently supervised the cinematics team for EA’s Command & Conquer 3: Arena as well as CAPCOM's Resident Evil 5.
